The California Native Plant Society: East Bay Chapter

The CNPS is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to protecting California's native plant heritage and preserving it for future generations. Our nearly 10,000 members promote native plant appreciation, research, education, and conservation through our five statewide programs and 34 regional chapters in California.

The East Bay Chapter covers Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. State and local chapters work together to increase public understanding of California’s native flora and to preserve this resource for future generations.

California Invasive Plant Council:

Invasive plants displace native plants and wildlife, increase wildfire and flood danger, consume valuable water, degrade recreational opportunities, and destroy productive range and timber lands. Cal-IPC works with land managers, researchers, policy makers, and concerned citizens to protect the state from invasive plants.

Cal-IPC's mission is to protect California's lands and waters from ecologically-damaging invasive plants through science, education and policy. We work closely with agencies, industry and other nonprofit organizations to support research, restoration work, and public education.

Morcom Rose Garden: Located in Oakland, California

This Amphitheatre of Roses is deeply nestled in a residential area. It is an enchanting location for weddings, renewals, memorial celebrations and ceremonies of all sorts.

The Ruth Bancroft Garden: Located in Walnut Creek

The Ruth Bancroft Garden is an exceptionally beautiful garden hosting a collection of water-conserving plants for the education and enjoyment of the public.

The Garden offers an array of workshops, tours and seminars for the professional and the home gardener. These programs range from special tours of the Garden to all-day Dry Garden Design Seminars.
